Located a few blocks from the Hyatt Regency, inside The Shops at the Bravern, you’ll find the famous American Brasserie, Sugar Factory. Catering to the art of celebration, it’s a one-of-a-kind experience that is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.
The food at Sugar Factory American Brasserie is a treat for all, offering guests a one-of-a-kind dining experience, serving decadent and tasty fare to satisfy any craving. Woodinville Wine Country
I’ve mentioned Woodinville throughout this post, but I wanted to provide you with a few specific tasting rooms to check out. When planning your visit, call ahead to each tasting room to confirm their current reservation policy.
Maryhill Tasting Room & Bistro at Hollywood Schoolhouse
Maryhill Winery occupies nearly 10,000 square feet of Woodinville’s historic Hollywood Schoolhouse, a beloved landmark since its construction by the Derby School District in 1912. The building has been everything from a school to a dance hall to a roller-skating rink. The Hollywood Schoolhouse has been restored to its turn-of-the-century style, down to the grand ballroom’s hardwood floors, antique bar, and brick fireplace.
Maryhill occupies the grand ballroom and upper floor, along with a full commercial kitchen. Visitors are able to enjoy Maryhill’s wide selection of Washington wines from both inside the lovingly restored building and outside among the beautiful gardens and outdoor balconies.
“We are looking forward to becoming the new stewards of this iconic landmark. “The Hollywood Schoolhouse, like Maryhill, is a family-owned business with deep roots in the community. And the location is just as breathtaking as our other Washington tasting rooms. It’s the ideal venue for reaching a new audience of wine lovers in the Seattle area.”
The tasting room offers visitors high-quality, affordable wines on the expansive ballroom floor. From the bar, their knowledgeable and friendly tasting room staff offer a mixed flight of our classic and reserve wines.
Tasting Fee: $20; May be applied towards $30 purchase. Waived to all Wine Club Members.
The Woodinville Tasting Room’s Premium Club Lounge is reserved for Premium Wine Club Members (Members can bring up to 2 guests). The lounge is open Friday 5pm-8pm, Saturday 12pm-8pm, and Sunday 12pm-7pm. Reservations recommended if (weather permitting) you are seeking a table on the Club Lounge decks.
Maryhill’s Club Level occupies the upper floor of the Hollywood Schoolhouse. The Club Room offers a rotating tasting flight from their collection of exceptional library, as well as award-winning small-lot and limited-production wines.
COVID UPDATE: Seated tastings are limited to groups of five people per table due to the statewide restrictions.
Lauren Ashton Cellars Tasting Room
Lauren Ashton wine adopts many of the rich winemaking traditions of the Old World, endless dedication to winemaking, all the while honoring a familiar Washington style, with a twist. The Premium Tasting Experience consists of discovering the essential elements of up to five different wines together with other clients in the Tasting Studio. Current release wines are compared to one another and evaluated in terms of how they pair with different foods. Your wine coach will guide you to uncover primary and secondary aromas and tastes. The fee for this experience is $15 per person, which can be waived with a minimum wine purchase of $45 or more.
The Group Tasting Experience is designed to guide a small group of friends (minimum – group of 10) through the best wines in the cellar. This menu will be customized to explore a variety of varietals and blended wines from the different American Viticulture Areas in Washington. This experience is available for $25 per person, and is not offset by the purchase of wine.
Chatea Ste. Michelle Winery
Washington State’s oldest winery is surrounded by 105 wooded acres and unique craftsman-style architecture, acting as an oasis for everyone who visits. With all there is to experience, an hour can quickly become three.
Chateau Ste. Michelle is one of the few premium wineries in the world with two state-of-the-art wineries, one for red and one for white. The whites are made at the Chateau in Woodinville, WA, while the reds are made at their Canoe Ridge Estate winery in Eastern Washington.
The Feature Flight Experience includes a tasting flight of 4 distinctive, premium wines from their Reserve and Limited Release collections of red and white wines. Flight selections change monthly. Tasting Experiences are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for all spaces. $25/person
