A few weeks ago, Addy and I had the opportunity of taking a baking class with Bells Pastries in Queen Anne. This mother-daughter date thing we have going on is amazing. She’s finally at the age (5), that makes going places easy – we can chat, we can hang, we can enjoy. So about once a week we head out for an adventure, just the two of us. And Mila (3) gets some one-on-one time with my husband – which has really grown their relationship since she’s a bit of a momma’s girl. I can’t stress enough – if you have more than one little – take some solo time with each of them. They deserve it, and so do you. ♥
So onto our date…the class was led by Jasmin Bell at La Reve Bakery in Queen Anne (Seattle). Jasmin is a culinary genius. She’s been a successful Executive Pastry Chef for several luxury resorts and was featured on Food Network’s, ‘Chopped Desserts.’ And to top it off – she is incredibly down to earth – exactly who you want to be cooking with!
The class we attended was a ‘Mommy & Me’ edition for Mother’s Day, where we created a Chocolate Rasperry Torte. I am so thankful she had a photographer – which I believe she does for all of her classes! It allowed me to just appreciate this time with Addy! I hope you enjoy the photos from our class and this sways you to try a cooking class with someone you love (my preference!). Because food brings people together, am I right?
